Yes, the b52 Pro can be used as a power rack and functional trainer as well as a smith machine.
All barbell movements can be performed on the B52 Pro, including Smith machine and landmine exercises. The dual cable pulleys support virtually all traditional cable exercises with a 2:1 resistance ratio.
Additional exercises include pull-ups, lat pulldowns, seated rows, dips, inverted rows, leg extensions, leg curls, and chest-supported rows (attachment required).
The lever arms allow for isolateral (single-arm/single-leg) training and provide a different strength curve than free weights. The shoulder lateral raise attachment offers a fixed-path movement for targeted side delt training.
The smith machine portion of the b52 Pro has been drop tested to find a weight capacity of 500lbs. The j-hooks and safeties each have a weight capacity of 1500 lbs.
The b52 Pro is great for beginners as it provides you with countless exercises in a small footprint. The smith machine offers safety, while the cable system, power rack and landmine attachment allow for more free movement.
Yes, the b52 pro requires plate loading on the smith bar and any barbell that is used with the power rack. Weight stacks are included for the cables, so plates are not required to use the cables, however the optional weight stack pin extender requires Olympic plates. Plates are sold separately.
The b52 Pro includes the following attachments: tricep bar, lat pulldown bar, 2 D handles, dip attachment, 4 band pegs, landmine attachment, foot plate and rear plate storage.
The b52 Pro stands at 82.6" and the J-Hooks can be set as high as 71". The lat pull down extension option is recommended for taller/longer limbed users.
